India Follows Russia’s Diplomatic Blunder

Months ago, Russia made a significant mistake by recognizing the Taliban, a terrorist group from Pakistan. Now, Russia regrets this decision, but India is repeating the same error by inviting the Taliban to visit.
Amir Khan Muttaqi, a key Taliban figure, is a Pakistani national from the Quetta region of Afghanistan, which is currently under Pakistani control. He considers Pakistan his homeland and is deeply devoted to it, both ideologically and religiously.
The UK and US cleverly pushed Russia to accept the Taliban, a group they helped bring to power in Afghanistan in 2021 with the help of Pakistan. Now, Pakistan is pushing India to recognize the Taliban.
How could countries like Russia and India, with strong diplomatic systems, make such mistakes?
By engaging with the Taliban, Russia and India ignore the group’s Pakistani & American ties and its terrorist nature. These choices could harm regional stability and weaken both nations’ global reputation.
